Singapore to roll out ERP 2 road markings and signage from October
Singapore's transport authorities are preparing for the nationwide rollout of Electronic Road Pricing 2 infrastructure, with new road markings and directional signs set to appear across the island from October. The Land Transport Authority is moving forward with its deployment of updated ERP 2 signage and road markings to prepare drivers for the next generation of electronic road pricing collection. The infrastructure upgrade will be systematically introduced across Singapore's road network beginning next month, providing motorists with clear guidance on the new system's operation.
The phased introduction of visual markers represents a key component of the ERP 2 migration strategy, designed to ensure driver familiarity with the system before full implementation. Road markings will denote ERP 2 charging zones, while directional signs will inform motorists of upcoming gantry locations and toll boundaries.
The rollout follows encouraging progress in the adoption of vehicle-mounted in-vehicle units essential for the ERP 2 system. Statistics show that more than 98 percent of eligible Singapore-registered vehicles have already been equipped with the required on-board technology, indicating high compliance rates among the motoring public ahead of the transition.
