Singapore to subsidise haze-related medical treatment from October
Singapore will begin offering subsidised treatment for haze-related health conditions at polyclinics and selected general practitioner clinics from October 12, 2026. The move aims to make healthcare more accessible for residents affected by transboundary haze pollution.
LSN Singapore ·
The Ministry of Health announced that eligible Singaporeans will receive financial assistance when seeking treatment for haze-related conditions at public polyclinics and participating private GP clinics starting October 12, 2026. The subsidy scheme targets residents experiencing respiratory and other health issues triggered or exacerbated by regional haze events.
The initiative expands existing healthcare support mechanisms to address the recurring air quality challenges facing the city-state during the annual haze season. By extending subsidies to both public and private primary care providers, authorities aim to ease the financial burden on affected residents and encourage timely medical consultation.
Eligibility criteria for the subsidy programme will be determined by the Ministry of Health, with further details expected to be released in coming months. Residents are advised to check official government channels for information on qualifying conditions, income thresholds, and participating healthcare providers ahead of the scheme's launch.
