Singapore unaffected by US recall of blood pressure medication

Singapore's health regulator has assured residents that a significant product recall in the United States will not affect local access to the blood pressure medication Tribenzor. The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) made the clarification following reports of the recall affecting thousands of units abroad.

The recall in the US market involved more than 3,700 bottles of Tribenzor, a combination drug used to treat hypertension. The HSA's confirmation suggests that either different batches are distributed in Singapore or local supplies remain unaffected by the issue prompting the American recall.

Tribenzor, which combines amlodipine, olmesartan medoxomil, and hydrochlorothiazide, is a commonly prescribed antihypertensive in the region. The HSA regularly monitors pharmaceutical safety and quality across all products available in Singapore's healthcare market.

Patients currently taking blood pressure medications are advised to continue their prescribed treatments unless otherwise directed by their healthcare providers. For specific concerns regarding medication safety or recalls, residents may contact the HSA or consult their doctors directly.
