Singaporean Ashley Tan has been removed from his position as chief executive officer of FHI 360, a United States-based non-profit organisation, in what appears to be an abrupt leadership transition.
Mr Tan, 39, was listed as the organisation's CEO on the FHI 360 website as recently as November 4. By November 6, he had been replaced by Deborah Kennedy-Iraheta, who has assumed the role of interim chief executive.
FHI 360 is a Washington DC-headquartered global health organisation that works on infectious disease, environmental health and other development issues across multiple countries. The reasons for Mr Tan's departure from the role have not been immediately clarified.
The leadership change marks a significant transition at the non-profit, though further details about the circumstances surrounding Mr Tan's removal remain unclear.
