The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) cancelled its recruitment drive for Drug Inspector, Group-B posts under the Food and Drug Administration on August 26 after preliminary investigations uncovered serious irregularities in the screening test administered on March 22, 2026.
The cancellation followed the discovery of a paper leak related to the competitive examination. Authorities arrested six individuals in connection with the breach, which compromised the integrity of the selection process.
The decision to scrap the entire recruitment cycle underscores the commission's commitment to maintaining the sanctity of competitive examinations. Officials have launched a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances that led to the leak and the extent of involvement of various parties.
