Six dead, a dozen hurt in Telangana bus-lorry collision
A speeding passenger bus collided with a heavy goods vehicle on a Telangana highway early Friday, claiming six lives and injuring 12 others. The bus was carrying 42 passengers on an interstate journey when the accident occurred.

The collision took place around 5 a.m. near Suryapet in Telangana's Nalgonda district, authorities said. The bus was en route from Hyderabad to Eluru, West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, passing through Vijayawada when it struck the lorry at high speed.
Rescue teams reached the scene shortly after the crash and pulled survivors from the wreckage. Emergency services transported the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment. State police launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, with preliminary reports suggesting the bus driver may have lost control while traveling at excessive speed.
The incident adds to Telangana's road safety concerns, with highways connecting major cities remaining accident-prone zones.
