Six Luzon areas placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) expanded Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 coverage across six Luzon areas on Tuesday evening as Super Typhoon Rosal continued its approach toward Central Luzon.

In its 5 p.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa raised the alert status over the designated provinces and regions, indicating that residents in these areas could expect winds of 30 to 60 kilometers per hour, with occasional gusts. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is the lowest alert level in the country's four-tiered wind warning system.

The expansion of wind signals underscores the intensifying threat posed by the super typhoon, which continues to advance toward the Philippine islands. Pagasa has advised residents and local government units in affected areas to exercise caution and prepare contingency measures, including securing loose objects and monitoring updates from the weather bureau.

Further advisories are expected as the storm system tracks closer to the archipelago. Residents are urged to stay informed through regular Pagasa updates and heeding guidance from local disaster management officials.
