The extension provides relief to businesses struggling to dispose of inventory that does not meet the Battery and Accumulator Regulation System (BCRS) requirements. The new grace period allows affected retailers additional time to ensure their stock aligns with the regulations before facing potential enforcement action.
Non-profit organisations are also eligible to benefit from the extension, provided they complete registration with NEA by September 30. This requirement ensures that only qualifying entities receive the additional compliance period.
