A commercial flight was cancelled after airline personnel spotted a snake moving across the cabin floor moments before takeoff. The reptile was discovered beneath a carpet by a staff member conducting pre-flight checks, triggering an immediate suspension of boarding operations.
The discovery forced the airline to evacuate the aircraft and halt all departure procedures while authorities worked to locate and safely remove the snake from the plane. The specific aircraft type and destination details were not immediately disclosed.
The incident adds to a growing list of wildlife intrusions at airport facilities across South Asia, where tropical climates and proximity to natural habitats create conditions conducive to such occurrences. Airlines and airport operators have faced repeated challenges managing unexpected animal encounters in passenger areas.
Flight operations resumed after the area was deemed safe and cleared by relevant authorities. The airline has not yet announced compensation or rebooking arrangements for affected passengers.
