Soap foam mistaken for snow blankets Shah Alam Expressway

What initially appeared to be an unseasonable snow cover on the Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas) turned out to be a substantial accumulation of soap foam following intense rain in the afternoon. The white, frothy substance blanketed portions of the highway, creating a striking visual that drew the attention of passing motorists and commuters in the Kuala Lumpur metropolitan area.

Authorities investigated the occurrence and determined that the foam resulted from soap and detergent residue being agitated and aerated by the heavy rainfall. The combination of water turbulence and chemical compounds created the voluminous white foam that spread across the expressway surface.

The incident highlighted how weather patterns and environmental conditions can produce unexpected phenomena on major traffic corridors. The foam gradually dissipated as conditions normalised, and traffic on the Kesas returned to regular flow without significant disruption.
