KORONADAL CITY — Private sector workers in the non-agricultural, retail, and service industries across Soccsksargen will see their daily minimum wage rise to P501 beginning January 1, 2027, according to the National Wages and Productivity Commission.
The wage increase of P41 per day represents a significant adjustment for the region's workforce. The commission issued the directive under Wage Order No. XII (SOCCSKSARGEN)-26, establishing the new compensation floor for eligible employees.
Approximately 86,815 workers throughout Region 12 are expected to benefit from the wage adjustment. The increase aims to help workers keep pace with rising costs of living in the Soccsksargen region, which encompasses the provinces of South Cotabato, Cotabato City, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani.
The wage order applies to establishments in the private sector with regular employees, excluding those in agriculture and fishing industries, which operate under separate wage guidelines.
