Socso extends financial support to Ipoh crash victims' families
The Social Security Organisation has confirmed that next of kin of two individuals killed in a weekend road accident in Ipoh are eligible for pension benefits and funeral assistance totalling more than RM275,000.

IPOH — Families of two victims who died in a road collision on Jalan Jelapang-Ampang on Saturday have been assured of comprehensive financial support through the Social Security Organisation (Socso), the agency confirmed this week.
The combined assistance package, exceeding RM275,000, comprises survivor pensions and funeral aid available to the deceased workers' next of kin. The support represents Socso's standard entitlements under Malaysia's employment injury scheme for families of workers killed in accidents.
Families entitled to the assistance are encouraged to contact Socso directly to initiate claims and obtain further details regarding benefit eligibility and payment procedures. The organisation has activated its claims processing mechanisms to expedite assistance to the bereaved families.
Socso emphasises that workers and their dependents are automatically covered under the scheme, providing financial protection during unforeseen accidents. The assistance aims to help families navigate the financial burden following workplace-related fatalities.
