Software engineer arrested after drunk-driving incident injures seven in Hyderabad

A vehicle plowed into pedestrians walking along a roadside in Hyderabad's ECIL locality in the early hours of Tuesday, leaving seven people hurt in what authorities are investigating as a drunk-driving incident. Three of the injured sustained serious injuries and were receiving medical treatment following the collision. Closed-circuit television footage of the incident has been recovered by investigators. Police identified the driver as Pavan, a software engineer, and arrested him along with another person who was present in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
