Solex Energy, a homegrown renewable energy company, is setting its sights on the US market for its international foray, according to Chairman Chetan Shah. The company plans to invest $1.5 billion through 2030 to establish solar module and cell manufacturing capacities in America, marking a significant step into the global clean energy sector.
The US represents the world's largest solar market, making it an attractive destination for Indian manufacturers. High anti-dumping duties imposed on Chinese solar imports have created a strategic opening for Indian suppliers to offer cost-competitive alternatives, Shah explained in recent comments.
Solex Energy's expansion strategy reflects a broader trend among Indian renewable energy companies seeking to strengthen their international presence. The company aims to position itself as a reliable and economical option for US consumers and businesses increasingly focused on clean energy adoption.
"The US is a high-potential market," Shah noted, highlighting that while numerous Indian corporates maintain operations in America, several companies including Solex Energy are actively exploring investment opportunities in the region. The expansion underscores India's growing role as a significant player in the global renewable energy supply chain.
