Sona Comstar expects to significantly raise its annual investment budget as the company pursues growth across its portfolio, Managing Director and Group CEO Vivek Vikram Singh said. Currently spending between Rs 500-600 crore per annum, the autocomponent maker plans to boost capital expenditure to support operational scaling and capability development.
The company is allocating resources across multiple focus areas including research and development, capacity expansion, process improvements and new product development. Singh indicated that Sona Comstar remains committed to investing uniformly across its three business lines while targeting entirely new product categories.
During the second quarter of the current financial year, Sona Comstar commercialized three new products: a helical limited slip differential designed for electric vehicles, air springs for railway coaches and rear radar systems. This product expansion reflects the company's strategy to diversify revenue streams and serve emerging market segments.
The increased investment outlook underscores Sona Comstar's confidence in market demand and its ability to capture growth opportunities in both conventional and emerging automotive segments. The capital deployment strategy aligns with broader industry trends toward electrification and advanced automotive technologies.
