Sony Sports Network secures rights to India-Afghanistan T20I series

Sony Sports Network has acquired exclusive television broadcast rights for a three-match T20I series between India and Afghanistan, beginning September 13 in New Delhi. The matches will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on September 13, 15 and 17.

The India-Afghanistan T20I series will form part of Sony Sports Network's expanded cricket offerings, providing cricket enthusiasts across India, Nepal, Maldives and Bhutan with comprehensive coverage of the upcoming contests.

According to Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer and Business Head, Sports and International at Sony Pictures Networks India, the acquisition strengthens the network's cricket portfolio. "Both teams play an aggressive and entertaining style of T20 cricket, and the series promises three highly competitive encounters," Kaul said in a statement.

The Indian team, led by Shreyas Iyer, includes players such as Ishan Kishan, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma and Varun Chakravarthy. The three-match series will serve as an important fixture in the international T20I calendar, offering both sides competitive preparation ahead of upcoming tournaments.

The matches will be broadcast live across Sony Sports Network's platforms, ensuring comprehensive coverage for viewers throughout South Asia.
