Southern Province Divisional Secretariats honoured for decentralising President's Fund services

The 'Mehewara Pasasum' recognition programme celebrated Divisional Secretariats across the Southern Province that achieved outstanding performance in 2025 through the decentralisation of President's Fund services to the local government level. The event was held on Saturday at the Rabindranath Tagore Auditorium of the University of Ruhuna, under the auspices of Speaker Dr Jagath Wickramaratne.

The initiative aims to streamline access to President's Fund services by bringing administrative functions closer to citizens at the Divisional Secretariat level, reducing bureaucratic processes and improving service delivery across provincial districts.

The recognition programme identified and honoured those Divisional Secretariats that demonstrated the most effective implementation of decentralised services during the year. The event underscores the government's commitment to enhancing governance structures and ensuring efficient public service delivery throughout the Southern Province.
