Southwest monsoon strengthens over Kerala; fresh rains expected

The southwest monsoon, which had weakened considerably over Kerala in recent weeks, is showing signs of revival as weather patterns shift in the region. The extended dry spell that had gripped the state is expected to ease with the approach of fresh weather systems, bringing much-needed relief to agriculture and water resources.

According to meteorological assessments, a weather system forming over the Bay of Bengal is anticipated to drive moisture-laden winds back towards the Kerala coast from September 23. This development comes after nearly a fortnight of unseasonably warm and dry conditions that had raised concerns among farmers and water management authorities.
