The state weather agency said the southwest monsoon, locally known as the habagat, will persist in its grip over Southern Luzon and the Visayas through the forecast period, bringing sustained rainfall to these regions.

Metro Manila and nearby areas are expected to experience generally fair weather on Sunday, though isolated rain showers remain possible due to the lingering influence of the seasonal wind system, according to a weather update issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

Residents in the southern regions are advised to monitor weather developments closely, as the monsoon pattern typically brings moderate to heavy rainfall. Flash floods and landslides remain possible in areas prone to such hazards.

The tropical weather pattern is expected to dominate conditions across the archipelago in coming days, with the intensity potentially varying depending on local geography and elevation.
