MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) warned Monday that the southwest monsoon, locally called habagat, will keep bringing rain across Luzon throughout the day.

Batanes province faces the highest probability of receiving precipitation as the weather system remains active over the northern region. Residents in affected areas are advised to monitor weather updates and prepare for potential flooding in low-lying and water-prone communities.

Meanwhile, Pagasa continues to track three separate weather systems positioned outside the Philippine area of responsibility. The agency said it will issue updates should any of these systems move closer to the archipelago and pose threats to public safety.

The state weather bureau recommends that residents remain alert for sudden changes in weather conditions and heed all advisories as the southwest monsoon maintains its influence over the region.
