MANILA — The southwest monsoon, locally known as the habagat, will bring significant rainfall to portions of Luzon on Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration reported in its early morning weather bulletin.

Weather specialist Veronica Torres noted that while northern and central Luzon faces wet conditions from the monsoon system, residents in the Visayas and Mindanao can expect predominantly fair weather throughout the day.

The agency's 5 a.m. forecast indicated that affected areas of Luzon should prepare for possible flooding in low-lying regions and landslide-prone areas. Residents are advised to monitor weather updates regularly as conditions may change.

Meanwhile, the southern regions are projected to maintain stable weather patterns, with light winds and good visibility expected to persist through the weekend.
