MANILA — The southwest monsoon, locally known as the habagat, will continue to bring heavy rains to Northern and Central Luzon on Monday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The forecast, issued at 5 a.m., indicates that the monsoon system will affect multiple areas across the two regions throughout the day. Pagasa specialist Aldczar Aurelio confirmed that the weather pattern would persist, with rainfall expected to impact communities in the path of the system.

Residents in affected areas are advised to remain vigilant and take appropriate precautions against potential flooding and landslides. The weather bureau continues to monitor the situation and will issue updates as conditions develop. Communities are encouraged to stay informed through official weather alerts and advisories from Pagasa.
