Southwest monsoon, tropical depression to bring rain across Luzon, Visayas

MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has forecast wet conditions across major regions of the country as two weather systems converge over the archipelago.

The southwest monsoon, locally known as the habagat, combined with the trough of a tropical depression located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, will bring occasional to moderate rains over Luzon and several Visayas provinces throughout Wednesday, according to the state weather agency.

Residents in affected areas should prepare for slippery roads and possible flooding in low-lying communities. The weather bureau advised the public to monitor updates as conditions may change, particularly in areas prone to water accumulation.

Pagasa continues to track weather developments and will issue additional advisories as necessary. Authorities urged local government units to remain on alert and implement necessary precautions in vulnerable areas.
