The Crew-12 mission concluded successfully as the SpaceX Dragon capsule touched down in the Pacific Ocean, marking the end of an eight-month deployment on the International Space Station. The four-member crew had spent their time conducting scientific research and maintaining orbital facilities during their extended stay.
The return journey proved lengthy, with the capsule taking more than 27 hours to complete its descent from the station to splashdown. Recovery operations proceeded as planned, with the crew in good condition following the completion of their mission objectives.
The extended duration of the mission allowed the crew to conduct numerous experiments and maintenance operations aboard the station. Their work contributed to ongoing research programs that benefit scientists and researchers across multiple disciplines on Earth.
The successful splashdown adds to the growing track record of commercial spacecraft operations supporting human spaceflight. The mission demonstrates the reliability of current systems for transporting personnel to and from orbital facilities for sustained periods.
