Spielberg withdraws $29.9 million Los Angeles ranch from sale

Spielberg and his spouse purchased the Dogwood ranch in 1999 for $5.75 million, envisioning an extensive renovation that would establish premium equestrian facilities on the expansive property. However, the couple encountered significant resistance from neighbouring residents who opposed their initial development plans, forcing them to substantially scale back their ambitions for the estate over successive years.

Despite the modifications to their renovation vision, the ranch retains considerable appeal for prospective high-net-worth purchasers. The property boasts a substantial main residence equipped with luxury amenities alongside a 20,000-square-foot riding arena, making it attractive to buyers with equestrian interests.

The decision to withdraw the listing comes after the property remained on the market without generating sufficient buyer interest at the $29.9 million price point. The delisting represents a significant decline from the original purchase price, reflecting broader shifts in the luxury real estate market for premium residential properties in the Los Angeles area.
