A Sri Lankan Air Force Beechcraft King Air 360ER aircraft, crewed by six personnel, took part in Exercise Tarang Shakti, a multinational aerial training initiative hosted by India. The exercise brought together air force units from multiple nations to conduct joint operations and share best practices in modern aviation techniques.
The participation represents the latest step in Sri Lanka's ongoing efforts to strengthen defence partnerships beyond its immediate region. Military-to-military engagement through joint exercises has become an increasingly important avenue for the island nation to enhance operational capabilities and interoperability with international air forces.
Exercise Tarang Shakti serves as a platform for participating nations to demonstrate aerial proficiency, coordinate tactical procedures and build professional relationships among air force personnel. The involvement of forces from the United States, France and Germany reflects the multinational character of the initiative and the diverse expertise available to participating nations.
Sri Lanka's defence establishment has prioritized international military cooperation as part of broader strategic objectives. Such collaborative exercises provide opportunities for knowledge transfer, exposure to advanced operational concepts and the development of networks among military professionals across participating countries.
