Sri Lanka Aviation Authority earns ICAO training accreditation

The Sri Lanka Aircraft Airworthiness Authority has been formally accredited with Silver Membership status by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) under its TRAINAIR PLUS initiative. The membership plaque was presented to SLAAA in recognition of the organisation's commitment to maintaining and enhancing training standards in aircraft maintenance and airworthiness certification.

The TRAINAIR PLUS programme is a technical cooperation initiative by ICAO designed to improve civil aviation training at the national level. Silver Membership status reflects SLAAA's achievement in meeting the programme's rigorous standards for training development, delivery, and quality assurance in aviation personnel certification.

The accreditation demonstrates SLAAA's capacity to provide internationally aligned training programmes for aircraft maintenance engineers and airworthiness personnel. This recognition enhances Sri Lanka's standing within regional and global aviation safety frameworks and supports the country's civil aviation sector in maintaining compliance with ICAO standards and recommended practices.

The membership is expected to facilitate knowledge sharing and technical cooperation with other aviation training institutions across the ICAO network, further strengthening the professional competency of aviation personnel in Sri Lanka.
