Sri Lanka Customs Surpasses September Revenue Target

Sri Lanka Customs delivered a strong revenue performance in September, collecting Rs. 199.348 billion and surpassing its monthly target by approximately Rs. 3.7 billion. The collections represent continued momentum in customs revenue generation for the island nation.

The month-on-month performance reflects enhanced customs operations and improved compliance across import and export activities. Officials attributed the improved collections to stricter enforcement measures and better coordination with importers and clearing agents.

Customs revenue has remained a critical component of Sri Lanka's fiscal strategy as the country navigates its economic recovery programme. The consistent meeting and exceeding of collection targets provides additional resources for government operations and debt servicing obligations.
