Sri Lanka-India Media Association Holds Annual Meeting in Colombo

The Sri Lanka India Media Friendship Association (SLIMFA) held its third Annual General Meeting on October 28 in Colombo, drawing together members and senior officials to chart the course for the bilateral media collaboration body.

The meeting was presided over by Santosh Jha, who serves as both patron of SLIMFA and High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka. His presence underscored the diplomatic significance of the association, which seeks to strengthen media ties and cultural understanding between the two neighbouring nations.

During the gathering, SLIMFA members elected a new Executive Committee tasked with steering the organisation's activities over the coming term. The election represents a key transitional moment for the association as it continues to expand its programmes connecting journalists, media professionals, and media organisations from both countries.

The annual meeting format allows SLIMFA to review its operational progress, discuss strategic initiatives, and renew its commitment to fostering collaborative media engagement between Sri Lanka and India. Such forums have become increasingly important as media landscapes in both nations evolve and opportunities for cross-border journalistic cooperation expand.
