Sri Lanka Police restore online Police Clearance Certificate system

The Sri Lanka Police announced the restoration of their online Police Clearance Certificate system, which had been temporarily unavailable to the public. The digital platform, which allows citizens to apply for PCCs without visiting police stations in person, is now fully operational.

The Police Clearance Certificate is an official document issued by law enforcement authorities confirming that an individual has no criminal record. The certificate is commonly required for employment purposes, immigration applications, educational placements, and professional licensing across Sri Lanka and internationally.

The online system streamlines the application process, reducing the need for citizens to visit police stations physically and enabling faster processing of requests. The restoration of the digital service reflects authorities' commitment to maintaining efficient public-facing services and supporting Sri Lankans' various administrative needs.

Members of the public requiring a Police Clearance Certificate are now able to access the online application portal. The Sri Lanka Police have not announced any changes to processing timelines or application fees as a result of the system restoration.
