Sri Lanka's National Power Utility Schedules Rolling Power Cuts

The National System Operator (NSO) has requested implementation of rolling power cuts across four designated zones, with each area facing around one hour of electricity interruption daily over the coming three days. The scheduled outages form part of ongoing load management efforts as the country continues to navigate energy supply challenges.

The coordinated power cuts are designed to balance demand across the national grid during peak consumption periods. Residents and businesses in the affected zones are advised to plan accordingly and take necessary precautions during the scheduled outage windows.

The NSO has not disclosed specific details regarding which zones will be impacted or the exact timing of the interruptions. Consumers are urged to monitor official announcements from their local electricity distribution providers for precise scheduling information relevant to their areas.

This latest round of load shedding reflects the ongoing capacity constraints within Sri Lanka's power generation infrastructure. Authorities have previously indicated that such measures remain necessary until additional generation capacity comes online.
