The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development announced the tender call on 29 September, inviting qualified suppliers to bid for the supply of 1,000 automatic-gear, four-wheel-drive diesel double-cab vehicles intended for distribution across government institutions.
The procurement exercise forms part of a broader mechanisation programme by the government. Alongside the vehicle tender, separate calls have been issued for the purchase of 175 tractors, 100 backhoe loaders, and additional heavy machinery to support development initiatives across the country.
Prospective bidders are required to submit their proposals by 22 October, with specifications and tender conditions available through official government procurement channels. The acquisition represents a significant capital investment in modernising the government fleet and enhancing operational capabilities across multiple departments and agencies.
The government has not disclosed the estimated value of the tender or the timeline for vehicle delivery. Officials indicated that the procurement process would follow established public purchasing protocols to ensure transparency and value for money.
