Sri Lanka to host 11th National Scout Jamboree next month

President's Secretary Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake convened discussions with heads of State and private sector institutions on January 6 to review preparations for the upcoming Scout Jamboree. The meeting at the Presidential Secretariat focused on securing and coordinating contributions from both government and commercial sponsors essential to the event's success.

The jamboree represents a significant gathering for the country's scouting movement, drawing participation from youth organisations nationwide. State institutions have committed various forms of support to ensure the smooth conduct of the week-long programme scheduled for mid-to-late January.

Private sector involvement complements government backing, with multiple sponsors pledging resources and assistance for the event. The coordination meeting underscores efforts to align all stakeholder contributions ahead of the jamboree's commencement.

The 11th National Scout Jamboree continues Sri Lanka's tradition of hosting major scouting events that bring together young participants for skill-building activities, outdoor experiences, and competitive events.
