Sri Lankan passport ranks 168th globally in latest mobility assessment

Sri Lanka's passport has been ranked 168th out of 199 countries and territories in the latest global passport strength assessment, according to data compiled by Passport Reports, a website that tracks visa access and travel document power worldwide.

The Sri Lankan passport carries a Mobility Score of 53, indicating limited visa-free or visa-on-arrival access for citizens. According to the rankings, holders of a Sri Lankan passport can travel to only 15 countries without requiring a visa in advance, placing the nation among the lowest-ranked in international passport strength.

The assessment measures passport power based on the number of destinations citizens can access without a visa, reflecting broader trends in global travel restrictions and bilateral agreements. Only 19 countries rank below Sri Lanka in the current standings, highlighting the significant constraints faced by Sri Lankan nationals seeking international travel.
