The rupee was quoted at 330.55 to 330.65 against the US dollar in spot transactions, maintaining its recent trading range as market participants balanced supply and demand for the domestic currency.
Government bond yields showed resilience across the maturity curve, with investors displaying steady demand for Sri Lankan sovereign debt despite broader regional economic pressures. The stability in bond pricing reflected confidence in the country's debt servicing capacity and macroeconomic management.
The rupee's performance comes as Sri Lanka continues efforts to stabilise its external sector following previous pressures on foreign exchange reserves. Sustained inflows from tourism, remittances and other sources have supported the currency in recent months.
Market participants remain focused on the rupee's trajectory as the central bank manages monetary policy and foreign exchange operations to support economic recovery. The stability in both currency and bond markets signals measured confidence among institutional investors in near-term stability, though broader economic challenges continue to shape medium-term outlook.
