SriLankan Airlines suspends Colombo-Riyadh services citing Middle East security

SriLankan Airlines has suspended its Colombo-Riyadh services, cancelling flight UL265 scheduled to depart Colombo on October 9 and flight UL266 expected to arrive in Colombo on October 10.

The airline attributed the suspension to the current security situation prevailing across the Middle East. The move reflects heightened caution being exercised by regional carriers in response to escalating tensions in the area.

The suspension affects passengers holding bookings on both services. SriLankan Airlines, which operates regular services on the Colombo-Riyadh route, has not indicated when normal operations on this sector will resume.

The decision underscores the ongoing impact of regional instability on commercial aviation networks in South Asia, with several carriers implementing precautionary measures affecting schedules and operations.
