Authorities in Srinagar have appealed for public assistance in tracking down four suspects linked to the killing of a police officer in Anantnag earlier this year. The names and details were displayed on a banner erected at a prominent city location.

Security personnel discovered a flex banner early Wednesday morning affixed to the wall of Pratap Park in Srinagar's Lal Chowk area, appealing for information about four individuals suspected of involvement in a fatal attack on a police officer. The suspects are being sought in connection with the July incident in Anantnag district in which a policeman was killed. Mohammad Lateef Bhat is among those identified in the appeal.
The public notice represents a common law enforcement tactic in Kashmir to mobilize community assistance in locating individuals suspected of militant activities or other serious crimes. By posting the banner in a high-traffic commercial area, authorities aimed to maximize visibility among the general population.
The move underscores ongoing security operations in the Kashmir valley as forces continue efforts to apprehend suspects linked to violent incidents. Authorities have urged residents with any information regarding the suspects' whereabouts or activities to report to nearby police stations or security agencies.
