Srisailam Temple Expands Prasadam Distribution Ahead of Kartik Month

The Sri Bhramarambha Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Andhra Pradesh is preparing for the heavy influx of worshippers expected during Kartikam by augmenting its prasadam distribution infrastructure. Trust Board Chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu conducted an inspection of the temple's queue management systems, Annaprasadam hall, and existing prasadam counters to assess capacity and identify bottlenecks.

The temple administration has decided to activate three new laddu counters to expedite the distribution process and reduce waiting times for devotees. Among these additions is a dedicated counter exclusively for women pilgrims, reflecting efforts to improve accessibility and comfort for female worshippers during the busy pilgrimage season.

The Kartik month, observed between October and November, is considered highly auspicious in Hindu tradition and typically witnesses a significant rise in visitor numbers at major temples across South India. The Srisailam shrine, one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas, is particularly crowded during this period as devotees seek blessings.

The temple trust's expansion of prasadam facilities aims to streamline operations and ensure that the increased devotional footfall can be accommodated without compromising the quality of service or pilgrims' experience. Officials have also reviewed crowd management protocols and refreshment provisions to handle the anticipated rush effectively.
