Ellron Alfred Angin, who previously held the deputy presidency of STAR, has switched allegiance to Gagasan Rakyat, marking another shift in Sabah's fluid political landscape. The move brings with it a number of STAR members and leaders who have chosen to align with the GRS component party. Angin's departure from STAR adds to recent realignments within the state's opposition ranks as politicians reassess their political affiliations. His appointment to lead Gagasan Rakyat's Pensiangan division reflects the party's confidence in his ability to strengthen its presence in the constituency. The defection underscores the ongoing political mobility among Sabah's leadership class, where party-switching remains a recurring feature of state politics.
