Sterlite Technologies charts ambitious growth path targeting ₹20,000 crore revenue

Sterlite Technologies Ltd (STL) has announced its 'Lakshya' growth initiative, marking a significant expansion plan that would represent roughly a fourfold increase in revenues over the next three financial years. Managing Director Ankit Agarwal unveiled the strategy at an investor meeting, positioning the company's ambitions within the broader context of accelerating global demand for digital infrastructure.

The ₹20,000 crore revenue target by FY29 reflects STL's confidence in market opportunities and its competitive positioning. The initiative aims to transform both the scale and market standing of the company while leveraging its core strengths in optical technology and digital connectivity solutions. Agarwal emphasized that the growth strategy would be underpinned by improved unit economics, strengthened customer relationships, and an expanded footprint in the world's rapidly expanding digital infrastructure sector.

STL's current performance provides a foundation for the expansion plans. The company reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹4,745 crore during FY25-26, demonstrating consistent business momentum. The Lakshya initiative represents a deliberate scaling strategy designed to capitalize on increasing investments in broadband infrastructure, digital connectivity, and telecommunications networks across key markets.

The announcement signals STL's intention to compete at a global scale in the optical networking and digital connectivity space, sectors experiencing robust growth driven by 5G deployment, data center expansion, and increasing fiber-optic infrastructure requirements. Success in executing Lakshya would require significant investments in manufacturing capacity, research and development, and market expansion initiatives.
