The stone-pelting incident took place between Utran and Kosad railway stations in Gujarat's Surat district. Railway authorities confirmed that projectiles struck the train, though initial reports indicated no major damage or injuries to passengers.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Praful Patel, Administrator of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, were among the passengers aboard the premium express service at the time of the attack.

Railway police have arrested one suspect in connection with the incident and initiated a detailed interrogation. Investigators are working to establish the motive behind the attack and determine whether additional individuals were involved.
