Student dies as stage structure collapses at Hyderabad engineering college event

A first-year engineering student lost her life when stage infrastructure collapsed during a dandiya night event at an engineering college in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The incident occurred when lighting equipment and a lifting structure gave way during the festive celebration, leaving several students injured.

The deceased student's sister, identified as Meena Narayan Das, sustained severe injuries in the accident and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. Medical officials reported her condition as critical.

The structural failure during the cultural event led to multiple casualties among attending students. Emergency services responded to the scene, and injured students were rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
