The student, identified as Yusho Steve Bag-ao of Mindanao Institute, was rushed to Cabadbaran District Hospital, where he was declared dead at approximately 4 p.m.
According to the student's mother, Vilma Bag-ao, her son collapsed during the sporting event. The exact circumstances surrounding the collapse remain under investigation, though preliminary indications suggest heat-related illness may have played a role.
