Student Group Plans Delhi March, Alleges Government Broken Promises

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) announced plans for a major protest march in the capital, set to commence at India Gate and proceed toward Delhi Police Headquarters on Teachers' Day. The decision came during a meeting of the CJP National Working Committee on Monday, marking an escalation following the group's withdrawal of a 36-day agitation in late July.

The organization suspended its demonstrations after negotiations with the Centre yielded assurances regarding examination irregularities and related issues. However, the CJP contends that the government has since reneged on those commitments, prompting the call for renewed action.

The upcoming march will be led by families of students who died by suicide following the cancellation of the NEET examination and its subsequent re-administration, as well as individuals who faced alleged police excesses during the earlier agitation. The CJP emphasized that the demonstration reflects broader concerns about government accountability and the welfare of the nation's youth.

"Our patience cannot be mistaken for weakness. Our good faith cannot become an opportunity for the government to betray the young people of this country," the organization stated in its announcement. The development underscores persistent tensions between student activists and authorities over examination conduct and administrative responsiveness to public grievances.
