Student of the Year: After Dark thriller arrives on JioHotstar this November

The Student of the Year universe is expanding into new territory with the launch of Student of the Year: After Dark, a thriller series coming to JioHotstar on November 13. The production represents a significant departure from the franchise's established tone, pivoting toward a crime-mystery narrative.

According to released materials, the story centers on a character tasked with unraveling the circumstances surrounding their twin sibling's death. The investigation-driven plot marks a shift from the romance and campus-drama elements that have characterized previous Student of the Year productions.

The arrival of After Dark reflects the growing trend among major streaming platforms to leverage established entertainment franchises by exploring different genres and storytelling approaches. JioHotstar's decision to develop this thriller variant suggests confidence in the Student of the Year brand's ability to attract audiences beyond traditional romantic drama viewers.

Fans of the franchise will have access to the series exclusively through the JioHotstar platform when it launches later this month. The streaming release comes as OTT platforms continue to invest heavily in developing original content tied to recognizable Bollywood properties.
