Severe weather swept across the Delhi-NCR region on Saturday night, bringing thunderstorms and strong gusty winds accompanied by heavy rain across multiple areas. The weather system affected Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad, with residents reporting sudden intensity in precipitation and wind speeds.
In addition to the rainfall, several localities across the region witnessed hailstones, adding to the intensity of the weather event. The combination of thunder, lightning, and strong winds created hazardous conditions in affected areas during the late-night hours.
The passage of the weather system resulted in a marked drop in temperatures across the region. Cooler winds followed the rainfall, providing relief from the warmer conditions that had prevailed in the preceding days. Meteorologists attributed the sudden weather shift to the movement of a low-pressure system through the region, which is expected to bring cooler air masses in its wake.
The Delhi-NCR region, which comprises the national capital and its surrounding cities in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, has been monitoring weather patterns closely as the transition season approaches. Residents have been advised to remain cautious during such sudden weather changes.
