MANILA — Super Typhoon Rosal is expected to bring substantial precipitation to parts of the Philippines starting Thursday afternoon, October 22, following a slight intensification of the system, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported.
In its 5 p.m. weather advisory, Pagasa noted that Rosal had marginally strengthened while positioned off Central Luzon. The agency warned residents in affected areas to prepare for the incoming inclement weather and potential flooding.
Meteorology officials urged local government units and disaster management agencies to heighten preparedness measures in anticipation of the heavy downpours. Coastal communities and low-lying areas were advised to monitor weather updates closely as the typhoon approaches.
Farmers and fisherfolk in the region have been cautioned to secure their operations and take necessary precautions ahead of the adverse weather conditions expected to persist through the coming days.
