Superstition Claims Two Brothers' Lives in Jharkhand; Family Shuns Medical Care

A tragic case of superstition has devastated a family in Ramgarh, Jharkhand, after two brothers died from treatable fevers following three days of ritualistic treatment instead of hospital care. The two boys and their mother were suffering from high fever when family members chose to consult a tantric practitioner rather than seeking medical intervention. During this period, the children's condition deteriorated significantly as the fever went untreated. When the family finally decided to rush the boys to hospital, both died en route. The boys' mother, whose condition had also worsened considerably during the delay, was subsequently admitted to RIMS hospital in critical state. The incident highlights the continued prevalence of superstitious beliefs in some communities, where traditional faith healers are consulted ahead of qualified medical professionals even in life-threatening situations. Local authorities have not yet disclosed details regarding any potential legal action or investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
