The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the supertyphoon is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday, October 20. Upon entry, it will receive the local name Rosal under the country's tropical cyclone naming system.
According to the latest weather bureau updates issued Sunday evening, the system poses a significant threat to northern Luzon with potentially destructive winds and heavy rainfall expected later in the week. Residents in affected areas have been advised to prepare for the incoming weather disturbance.
The agency continues to monitor Rosal's track and intensity as it approaches Philippine waters. Further updates and storm warnings are expected as the system draws closer to the archipelago. Authorities have urged the public to remain alert for official weather bulletins and follow advisories from local disaster management offices.
