Supreme Court Contempt Plea Filed Over Closed Metro Stations

A contempt of court petition has been filed in the Supreme Court of India over the alleged non-compliance with judicial orders concerning the closure of metro stations across the country. The petition, filed by advocate Shailendra Mani Tripathi, accuses authorities of defying court directives by maintaining restricted access at numerous stations despite explicit instructions to keep them operational. According to the petition, approximately 45 metro stations have remained shut in violation of the court's previous orders. Tripathi claimed to have submitted video evidence documenting the closure of gates at GTB Nagar metro station as documentation of the alleged violations. The petition seeks to hold the responsible authorities accountable for their failure to comply with the Supreme Court's directions regarding public access to metro infrastructure.
